Easy Nutella Fudge

“Hey! I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 32…”

A few weeks ago, my friend Kayle posted a link to this Youtube video, which is a parody of Taylor Swift’s song 22. A group of girls got together and shot a music video called 32, which talks about how you feel when you’re 32. Now, I’m not even 30 yet (still have a few more years), but I related to about 90% of this song.

“It feels like one of those days, where I’ll just go to work. That’s probably all.”

A coworker and I were talking about how boring our lives are when we go home. Cook dinner, dishes, laundry. She has her boys. I have my blog. Such an exciting life we live. That’s what happens when you grow up, which is why I love to travel. Get away from working and just enjoy the beauty of the world. It’s also why I love food and (over)indulging in dessert. Nutella is an ingredient I think all female adults use when being an adult sucks because a spoonful (or two) lets us forget how stupid our coworkers are or how we are behind on bill payments. Today’s recipe is guaranteed to make you happy after eating a piece (or two or three…) – Easy Nutella Fudge.

Although I call this fudge easy (because it is), it’s not necessarily foolproof. The trick is bringing the sugar mixture to a hard boil and letting it cook for 3 minutes. If you don’t cook it high or long enough, the mixture won’t set up correctly in the pan. Don’t let that scare you though. The recipe just requires a little more patience than skill.

Nutella Fudge can get a bit messy, especially if it’s on a warm day. I cut my pieces a bit on the larger size; next time, I’ll cut them smaller because they are quite sweet (it is fudge after all, not brownies). Fudge also makes a great gift! Imagine the excitement when your receiver opens up a box and finds homemade Nutella fudge. I know I would be very pleased.

“I just put on some sweatpants and I’ll keep on living like I’m 32”

(Please tell me I’m not the only one who comes home from work and changes from dress clothes to sweatpants).

2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 1/3 cup Nutella
1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow fluff

  1. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large heavy saucepan, whisk together the sugar and milk. Bring to a hard rolling boil; boil for 3 minutes (you must boil for a full 3 minutes or it won't set up later).
  3. Remove from the heat and whisk in the Nutella and marshmallow fluff. Quickly pour into the pan*. Cool completely at room temperature until firm. Cut into squares. Store in an airtight container (chill in the refrigerator if it gets too warm).

*If you take too long to pour into the pan and the mixture hardens, reheat the pan until soft again.

  1. Lol I’m only 23 and I related to 90% of that song! What does that say about meeee!!? ahahaaaaa

omg nutella fudge. I will come home from work, change into my pj’s/sweats, sit down, and eat this while watching Tv…

    f’m feeling 32. :P

    • It says you are much smarter than the other 23 year olds out there haha Even in college, I acted older because I never fit that crazy sorority drinks all the time mold. Deep down inside, we are much cooler than them. And we have Nutella Fudge.

  2. This is so much classier than eating Nutella straight from the jar!! :) you’ve elevated my stresseating :)

  3. When I went to work I would come home and change into something a whole lot more comfortable and sometimes it was sweatpants. I can’t tell you how much I love fudge and Nutella and one spoonful or one piece is so very not enough. Two or five is more like it.

    • I just hate to get my dressy work clothes all dirty from cooking and cleaning. Sure, I wear an apron while cooking, but I’m not exactly a clean eater either haha And sweatpants are way more comfortable.

  4. I change directly from work clothes to pjs. Because my life is sooper exciting. :D

Umm, Nutella fudge FTW! I love this so much.

  5. I’d eat the entire batch!

  6. I’m not quite 30 yet either (2 more years) but from the lyrics you shared I can relate as well. I don’t have to wear dress clothes to work cause I am in a research lab and wearing nice clothes is just a dumb idea, but I go home, work out, shower, cook, clean and maybe watch a movie. That’s about as exciting as my weekdays get. Occasionally I’ll go out to dinner or drinks with some friends but not often. Sigh…

    • Ha yea I wouldn’t wear dress clothes to a lab either. I can only imagine the items you work with! At least you work out. I’ll just sit here eating my fudge…

  7. You’re not alone in the sweatpant department! I could live in mine everyday if I could….especially if I was eating this fudge all the time! :)

  8. I just turned 20 and I identify with that song lol. I work at a doctors office so I come home and change from scrubs into nice clothes haha.
I have a jar of nutella sitting around that I need to do something with, this fudge would be perfect for that! Pinning :)

  9. I love fudge. Though I make it every year, to me it always means vacation. It seems wherever you travel there is always a candy store that makes fudge. That to me means, “buy!”. And then eat. This looks great.

  10. Amazing! My Nutella obsessed 5 year old sister would go crazy if I mad these for her. Love this recipe!

  11. Girrrrrrl, seriously, that’s my life. I IMMEDIATELY change into sweats when I get home and off comes that damn constricting bra. It would help if I didn’t stress eat all the time, thus making my clothes uncomfortably tight, but when eating is one of my only pleasures in life, I’m not going to be giving it up anytime soon. My unhappiness at work just sucks the soul right outta me, and then I angrily fight traffic home, where I then spend three to four hours cooking, cleaning, playing with the puppy, and then fall into the sweet release of sleep. Just to start all over again the next day, the same mind-numbing, soul-destroying routine. It’s scary that I’m 32, turning 33 this weekend (yikes!). This can’t be all there is to life, can there?! Before I fall any further into my spiral of despair, I should make this fudge. Nutella makes everything better!

    • Haha ok my bra stays on until after I shower in the evening. Let’s get together and drown our career related sorrows in lots of fudge.

  12. I can’t wait to watch this video! Since I enjoy going to bed at 10pm during the week and doing laundry on Friday, I have a sneaky suspicion I’ll be able to relate :)

    Loving this Nutella Fudge!!

  13. So easy………..maybe a little too easy…. which really means I’m going to end up making and eating a ton of this!

  14. This recipe won’t last long in my house, we love the taste of Nutella! Thanks for helping me decide what to make for dessert (this is clearly something that would be a great option)

  15. Hmmm, I think I can relate more to a video about 42! Yikes! This fudge is awesome, I big puffy heart Nutella!

    • Hmm maybe you should make lots of fudge, get hyper from the sugar, and make your own music video about 42. I can bring the video camera ;)

  16. Jessica says:

i am so excited to make this! my only question is, can i use “skim milk” when i make this? i make fudge around the holidays, and i know we usually use evaporated milk and i want to make sure i dont waste nutella!

  17. Funny how a spoon of nutella can make things seem less boring. But the truth is, I don´t stop at one spoon. I often wonder what´s so addictive about it; I know it´s chocolate and hazelnuts which are a killing combo and I love, love, love it. But it´s too addictive. Anyway, this is a killer recipe!

  18. First, nutella fudge? Amazing. Second, thanks for sharing that video. I’m turning 32 in November and that’s totally me. :)

  19. Oh my, I think I’d shove the whole batch in my pie hole before it cooled. Not that I’ve ever done that or anything.

  20. Would this work with Biscoff spread instead? (my recent OBSESSION!)

  21. anonymous says:

Hi! I’m so excited to try this. Just wondering if the sugar is necessary for the fudge to form (in other words, can I try leaving it out or using less?) Thank you!

    • Because fudge is very finicky, the 2 cups of sugar is necessary. If you use less (or leave it out completely), you will more than likely end up with a gooey mess.
