What’s On Moosey’s Mind

What's On Moosey's Mind

Here’s another post in the series What’s On Moosey’s Mind where I share my random (sometimes non-food) thoughts with you as well as highlight posts from other super-talented bloggers.

Random Thoughts:

1. Last weekend, I ironed for the first time! I bought some fabric I use for props that had some creases in them. Thank goodness my mom gave me her extra iron when I moved out of the house. I ended up buying a little tabletop ironing board because I wasn’t spending $20+ on one. I also didn’t have any clear tabletops, so I ironed on the floor:

2. Wednesday we got hit with a bunch of snow in the morning, so I worked from home. While working, I decided to dust off the bread machine and make homemade garlic and butter bread. Then I made a grilled cheese with the bread:

3. Do you know that feeling where you have this huge hurdle in a project? You know things will get better if you can just get past it. Well, this week I finally got past it. I can’t go into detail publicly about it. Just know that I accomplished something big that will hopefully lead to a change in the next few months. Or at least sometime this year.

4. I hate my internet provider. It sucks because it’s the only internet we can get because of where we live. If there was a better choice, I would drop them in a heartbeat. It’s a long story involving DNS servers, but they are to blame for why my Thursday post went up Friday instead. And why my giveaway post (hint hint) will go up…crap I have a post going up Monday already. Tuesday then. There will be a giveaway Tuesday.

5. If you are on Google Plus, for some reason my circles got wiped out. I’m finding that I have to re-add people, even though I know for a fact I added them once before. It’s nothing personal, I swear!

I need to know this big news!! Me thinks I owe you an email/text my friend! Also, you should come visit in April or may! It’ll be so fun!!

  2. Thanks for including my pesto!

We also had 2 days of snow and what I accomplished was 2 days of reading! I keep myself so busy with exercise classes, game day, Womens group, church etc. that I was longing for a “lie around and read”day which is just what i did on the snow days! So many projects that i have been wanting to get started but I needed to recharge before beginning.

    • I know what you mean! I would love to start reading books again, but of course I have a gazillion things to do before I can sit down and read. Even with the storm, I still had to work. Reading anything good?

yes. I read Maeve Binchey’s last book, A Week In Winter. She finished it just a few months before she died. And then I started on The Winter Rose by Jennifer Donnelly. Altho it is a stand alone book it is also a continuation of a story begun in her first book A Tea Rose. Great writer. The story spans a couple of generations. With snow gone I must start on some projects. Number ONE will be cleaning my pantry!

  4. Hey lady, glad to hear of the big break through. Is it something you’ve already told me or something new? Either way, it sounds positive and I’m happy for ya. Baking garlic bread and then making a grilled cheese sammich with it is a stroke of genius. And um…did I read correctly when you said that you ironed for the FIRST time this past week?! Lol.

  5. So jealous you got a work from home day! Did the snow really turn into anything down by you guys? We got like an inch and a half and everyone freaked out. Pshaw!

    • We got 6-8 inches in the morning, which happened all at once. Since 95% of our facility commutes over a mountain, they had everyone work from home. By the afternoon, it pretty much all melted!

  6. Carla,
I love snow days–they are a gift of extra time for me. Last week we got a weird snow day were the kids had school (though 2 hrs late) and the spouse had the day off. No complaints here!

  7. Looooove this segment still! <3

  8. Change is always good even though it can be scary, can’t wait for you to share with us! I think the only time I iron anymore is when I need something as a prop, lol.

  9. No snow here, but loads of rain and wind. Luckily we still have wood to keep ourselves warm by the fireplace.

Ah. And hope the giveaway will be international. :P

  10. Yay! cant wait for giveaway Tuesday, and ironing…oh, I always try my best to avoid that. :)
